Why 2 Inch Flow Meter Sizing Starts With Pipe Data
A 2 inch line is DN50 in most process plants. Actual inside diameter changes with pipe schedule. Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe has an inside diameter around 52.5 mm. Cross section is about 0.00216 square meters. Flow at 1 m/s equals about 7.8 m3/h. That means a DN50 meter with a range of 1 to 40 m3/h covers many utility and batch services.
